INDIANAPOLIS – Central Noble outlasted Winchester 46-42 to win the Class 2A girls basketball state championship at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Cougars jumped to a 12-4 lead in the first quarter but the Golden Falcons responded with a 12-0 run to take a 16-12 lead with 6:45 left in the second quarter.

The Cougars opened the fourth quarter with an 8-2 run to go up 38-32, including the go-ahead bucket from Bridgette Gray with 6:42 left in the game.

Winchester got within 44-42 with 1:11 left after a three-point play from Maddie Lawrence but Freeman's layup with 25 seconds left made it a two-possession game and secured the win.
