Mad Ants beat Long Island, qualify for playoffs

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

The Mad Ants are going to the playoffs for the fourth time in five years. A 116-100 victory today over the Long Island Nets guarantees that.

The Mad Ants, who won the 2014 D-League championship and reached the 2015 finals, missed the postseason last year. They will be either the third or fourth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Tyler Hansbrough had 34 points and 14 rebounds today in New York. Marquis Teague had 18 points and five assists off the bench. Alex Poythress had 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Mad Ants (29-21) play host to Canton (29-18) on Saturday and that game could determine who is the third seed.
