Former Wheeling coach Gove dies

David Gove, who coached the Wheeling Nailers last season and took a leave of absence during the playoffs, has died at 38.

According to KDKA TV, he was in a Pittsburgh area rehabilitation facility. The TV station reported that it was an apparent overdose and that he was found with heroin.

Gove's departure last season was mysterious and the Nailers went on to the Kelly Cup finals.

He played center in the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes.
