What's tonight mean? Not much for K's.

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

For the Komets tonight, the meaning of the game is maintaining momentum heading into the playoffs. For the Mallards, I would think it’s much more important, since Quad City has lost four of 11 games in the season series.

The Komets could still gain some seeding position, but only if they make it to the third round of the playoffs. With league-leading Toledo potentially in the way, I doubt they’re thinking much about that.

Injuries, though, have to be on their mind after they played with only five true defensemen in Friday’s 5-2 victory over Quad City in Moline, Illinois.

The Komets have won four of their last five games. Win or lose, though, I can’t imagine they're feeling too good or too bad, or changing too much, regardless of what happens at Memorial Coliseum tonight.
