Native rapper song in film ‘St. Vincent’

Fort Wayne native DeAngelo Samuel, better known as rapper Nyzzy Nyce, is featured on the original motion-picture soundtrack for "St. Vincent," starring Bill Murray, Naomi Watts and Melissa McCarthy.

Samuel’s track, "Stripper Pole," from his 2014 "Nothing Nyce" mix tape, coincides with Murray’s character, Vincent, a gambler with a penchant for alcohol who happens to form an odd friendship with his 12-year-old neighbor.

The film opened nationwide Oct. 24.

Samuel, one of the artists who spearheaded the local #MyCity music video campaign in 2012, has been featured at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. He has also appeared as a featured artist on the popular video-streaming website VEVO.

After spending some time in Europe this year, Samuel is currently in California.
