Female bandit robs eatery from car seat

Fort Wayne police are investigating a robbery at a downtown restaurant Monday night.

According to a police report, officers were called to Subway, 301 W. Jefferson Blvd., at 8:28 p.m. Monday and spoke to the only employee in the restaurant at the time. The man told officers a woman came directly to the drive-up window without ordering and said, “Can I have a water and all your money?”

The employee said the woman said she was kidding but then said, “No, for real.” She put her hand in the front pocket of her sweat shirt, implying she had a gun, and handed the employee a black fabric bag, the report said.

The employee gave the robber between $90 and $100 in 5s and 1s, and she drove east on West Jefferson Boulevard in a green vehicle. Police were unable to find an eastbound vehicle matching the description on West Jefferson Boulevard, the report said.

Boy, 6, slightly hurt in Spencerville ATV crash

A 6-year-old boy suffered a minor foot injury after an all-terrain vehicle crash in Spencerville on Monday.

According to an Indiana conservation officer’s report, the crash occurred at 17208 Lochner Road at 3:45 p.m. Monday. Chance C. McMaken was operating a four-wheeler down a long driveway when he struck several ornamental rocks, flipped the four-wheeler and was thrown off.

McMaken was taken to Dupont Hospital and treated for the foot injury. The boy was wearing a helmet, which prevented additional injuries, the report said.

Driver reports being followed, then robbed

A man told Fort Wayne police he was robbed at gunpoint by several men who followed him from a party early Monday.

Officers were called to the 6200 block of Downington Drive at 5:58 a.m. Monday and spoke to the victim, who said he was robbed 10 minutes earlier, a police report said.

The man said he was followed by men in a black Oldsmobile Achieva. He parked in front a house a few doors down from his, and the men pulled up and got out of their car. He said one of the men had a handgun, the report said.

The man told police he was forced into the passenger side of his car, and the armed man demanded money. He gave the robbers about $60 and they then drove him around the block, made him get out of the car and tried to force him to enter a house, the report said.

The man said the robbers threatened him and hit him with the gun, but he ran off. The man had a bump on the left side of his head, the report said.

A complete description of the robbers was not available. Police were able to find a handle of the gun the man described being used in the robbery, the report said.
