English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation grants

National City Bank of Indiana, as trustee for the English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation, has granted about $4.2 million to area organizations for community projects. The foundation is administered by National City Bank in Fort Wayne and a local committee approves distributions.

  • Avilla resident held on molesting charge
    An Avilla man, accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl in 2002, was arrested by Indiana State Police on Friday. Frederick W. Weese, 53, was being held at the Noble County Jail on a preliminary charge of child molesting.
  • Garage fire engulfs home; no injuries
    A two-story home at 6115 Hunter Wood Drive was severely damaged by a fire that began in the garage Saturday afternoon. Firefighters arrived at the home at 12:52 p.m.
