1 killed, 2 injured on Old U.S. 30
A 76-year-old Atwood man was killed and two men were hospitalized following a two-car crash Tuesday afternoon near Etna Green, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash happened as a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Ryan Herrick, 19, of Etna Green, was driving west on Old U.S. 30 near County Road 800 West, police said. Herrick passed another vehicle, lost control of his car and collided with an eastbound Dodge Dakota truck driven by Hoffer.
Hoffer died at the scene, police said.
Herrick and a passenger, Joshua Clemons, 20, of Bourbon, were flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where Herrick was listed in stable condition and Clemons was in critical condition.
