Bill's aim to save energy, money

It is disappointing that Sens. Evan Bayh and Richard Lugar voted against the Energy Independence and Security Act. By increasing fuel economy standards for the first time in decades and setting a national renewable electricity standard, the bill takes a historic step toward a new energy future.

By putting more fuel-efficient cars on the road and increasing our use of renewable energy, the bill was about creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, saving Indiana consumers $619 million at the gas pump and $265 million on their energy bills and making a downpayment on the fight against global warming.

More than ever, America needs a new direction on energy policy, but Indiana’s senators have failed to change course.

Four of the seven FWCS board seats are up for election this year. More than half of the board could be gone. This is a chance for everyone who has problems with FWCS to make a difference.

Muslim ‘bridge’ has only one end
Islam wants to build a mosque on ground that has been rendered – physically and consequentially – holy to us, in order to “build a bridge” between religions.

  • Web letter by Farouk Hamoui: Mosque hysteria can have dangerous consequences
Those of us who have been following the drama unfolding in the media over the proposed mosque in New York City have come to the conclusion that the issue has more to do with politics than religion, where Islam is being used in midterm elections by
