It’s time to think outside the box.

Maybe you’ve done the heart-shaped box a few too many times before, and the box collection is spilling out of the china cabinet drawer. (Yes, we sweethearts can never bear to throw them out.)

Maybe your sweetie’s tastebuds have outgrown the basic buttercream or nougat-filled confections found in your typical drugstore assortment.

Still, nothing says Valentine’s Day like chocolate. So, go ahead. Do the deed. We’ve found 14 ways to assuage the chocolate longings of the one you love – ways that won’t say you picked something up while waiting for your prescription to be refilled.

Candy/Is dandy/ But liquor/Is quicker

We didn’t say that; Ogden Nash, in “Reflections on Ice-Breaking,” did. You can follow in the famous poet’s footsteps stopping by Richard’s Bakery, 1130 Wells St., to pick up the Wine Flutes with Truffles (with champagne, strawberry and chocolate fillings) Gift Set. It comes with two glasses and a $5 gift certificate to S&V Liquors at Broadway and Taylor Street.
