DePauw appoints new president

Brian W. Casey, associate dean for academic affairs in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, will become the nineteenth president of DePauw University.

The university announced Thursday morning on its Web site that the appointment is effective July 1.

The appointment was to be announced at 10 a.m. Thursday by R. David Hoover, chair of DePauw’s Board of Trustees and chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Ball Corp.

A welcoming reception will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the Great Hall of the Green Center for the Performing Arts.
