The first road trip of the season continues to be a bumpy one for the Wizards.
Fort Wayne dropped two games to Beloit, 8-3 and 6-1, on Sunday.
The Wizards (2-9) have lost six of their first seven on a 10-game road swing.
Fort Wayne collected seven hits in the two games (four in game one, three in game two).
Left fielder Luis Durango was the best source of offense. He went 2 for 4 in the opener and went 1 for 2 with a walk in the nightcap.
In game one, the Snappers scored three runs in the bottom of the first. Garrett Olson knocked in two with a triple off of starter Jeremy McBryde. The righty allowed four runs and six hits in 2 2/3 innings. He struck out six, but fell to 0-2.
Beloit scored four more runs off Colt Hynes in the fifth. Hynes has a 13.50 ERA.
The Wizards scored first in game two on a home run by shortstop Andrew Cumberland in the first inning. Cumberland went 1 for 2 with a walk.
Beloit answered with three in the bottom of the first. Chris Parmelee had a two-run triple. The Snappers added three more in the third. Fort Wayne starter Matt Teague (0-1) allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings. Steve Delabar and Jackson Quezada combined for three scoreless innings in relief. Quezada struck out two in his one inning.
The Wizards begin a three-game series at 7:35 p.m. today at Wisconsin.
