Tim Brown, Stock Analyst

By Michael Rothstein
The Journal Gazette
Tim Brown Returns A Punt

We've seen former NFL players become television hosts (Tiki Barber), sports analysts (pick a number) and gone into the professional sector.

This, though, we weren't expecting.

Former Notre Dame wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown is now a stock analyst.

Brown made his debut as a stock columnist on TheStreet.com today, introducing himself as a man who is picking stocks "like I sized up opposing defenses."

So that'd be a pretty good thing.

Brown's first pick: Microsoft, which he says is "much closer to its 52-week low ($26.87) than it is to its high ($37.50)."

We're going to be following Brown's picks -- just to see if he's as good at this as he was on the football field. Would you take advice from Brown?

The Journal Gazette's Assistant Sports Editor Tony Krausz covers The University of Notre Dame. Krausz, a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a native of St. Louis, has been assistant sports editor since October 2005. Prior to joining the JG, he worked at two papers in Mississippi covering high school and college athletics.
