Joe Yonto Dies

Sad news out of Notre Dame this morning. Joe Yonto, an assistant coach under Ara Parseghian and Lou Holtz among others, has died.

WNDU first reported the story about the death of the 83-year-old former defensive line coach, who maintained a residence around South Bend even though his coaching days had ended.

Notre Dame assistant athletics director for media relations John Heisler said he had not yet received funeral information or a place to send condolences.
