Notre Dame's biggest rival might have suffered a crushing injury.
USC quarterback Mark Sanchez was carted off the field before stretching exercises during Friday's practice in Los Angeles, the LA Times is reporting.
Sanchez shredded Notre Dame last year, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns during USC's 38-0 win over the Irish in South Bend.
The LA Times story said Sanchez was carted from the football area and taken for X-rays.
Notre Dame and USC play in the season finale on Nov. 29. If the injury is serious, the Trojans could go to Arkansas transfer Mitch Mustain, who wanted to go to Notre Dame out of high school.
