ND-Purdue At The Half: No Mixed Messages

By Michael Rothstein
The Journal Gazette

No more Field of Dreams (or Potters) like messages on the board in the second quarter.

However, Notre Dame finally found itself on the scoreboard.

Freshman wide receiver Michael Floyd may not have a touchdown today, but he's been instrumental in Notre Dame keeping the game tied at half, 14-14. He has five catches for 93 yards.

Play of the half: Robert Blanton's 47-yard interception return for a touchdown which tied the game at 7-7 and changed the momentum.

Interesting stats of note: 17 passes and 14 runs for Notre Dame. Irish are 3 of 6 on third down and Golden Tate has touched the ball once -- a six-yard touchdown.

The Journal Gazette's Assistant Sports Editor Tony Krausz covers The University of Notre Dame. Krausz, a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a native of St. Louis, has been assistant sports editor since October 2005. Prior to joining the JG, he worked at two papers in Mississippi covering high school and college athletics.
