ND-UNC: End First ... Brandon Tate Out
By Michael Rothstein
The Journal Gazette
Most impressive first quarter, offensively, of the season for Notre Dame.
Eleven first downs, 158 yards of offense and the Irish didn't bring in a tailback until the 2:44 mark of the first quarter.
Michael Haywood should be happy.
Bad news for North Carolina, too. Wide receiver Brandon Tate was injured on a punt return with 5:40 left in the quarter, spraining his right knee.
He won't return.
