On Sept. 24, community health organizations gathered at St. Joseph Hospital’s Anthony Medical Center to assist area residents in applying for state-funded health insurance programs. Local and state representatives answered questions and helped residents complete and submit applications for the Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Healthwise.
Special thanks to the hard work of staff members representing our partnering organizations: Allen County Board of Health, Allen County Department of Family Resources, Allen County Healthy Homes, Anthem, Anthony Medical Center, CANI, Health Visions, Lutheran Children’s Hospital, Lutheran Hospital Osteoporosis Center, Matthew 25, MDwise, Neighborhood Health Clinics, Sen. Richard Lugar’s office, St. Joseph Community Health Foundation and Super Shot.
It is crucial for residents to learn more about the coverage they qualify for and enroll in that coverage. This event enabled residents to access the resources they need to achieve that goal. The response was so great that we plan to offer additional fairs at various locations around the city, providing access to even more residents.
