Web-only letter: Huntington County councilman missed important vote

The story “5 vying for at-large representative seats” (Oct. 17) included interviews with candidates for Huntington County Council. John Hacker was quoted as saying that he wasn’t fully convinced of the need for the local option income tax. This is an issue that affects all taxpayers in Huntington County. Hacker was not present at the meeting to vote yes or no on such an important issue. Hacker has just completed his second term on the Huntington County Council. Voters should take note of this on Tuesday.
