Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland is here -- and unlike Jon Bon Jovi and Jeff Samardzija, he's sitting in the press box.
As for the on-the-field action, kind of a slow third quarter.
Notre Dame didn't seem to get anything going offensively, so much so that after the Irish's last offensive possession Charlie Weis gathered the offense and let them have it pretty good.
Meanwhile, Pitt scored a touchdown after a big play where Notre Dame cornerback Terrail Lambert missed a tackle. It set up a 4-yard touchdown run by senior tailback LaRod Stephens-Howling.
And Pitt is driving again, but Notre Dame leads, 17-10.
A cool moment, too, at half. While Bon Jovi stood at the 47-yard line, the Notre Dame band played "Living On A Prayer" while most of the crowd sung along. Bon Jovi looked genuinely surprised and kept looking around the stadium with his mouth open.
After the performance, Bon Jovi was brought onto the field and presented with a Notre Dame band hat. It was a pretty cool thing to see as I'm sure rock stars don't get that kind of treatment often.
Early fourth on the field: Pitt quarterback Pat Bostick had Oderick Turner open for a first down, but Turner dropped it. Fourth down, though and Stephens-Howling converted.
