Charlie Weis’ torn ACL and MCL have slowly been deteriorating since John Ryan bowled into him during the Michigan last month, so much so that the fourth-year Notre Dame coach is now considering surgery after the season.
It has hindered his ability to walk and in the past two weeks has appeared to be in considerably more pain than right after the hit in September.
"My knee is doing crummy," Weis said. "I’m actually in the near future going to have an MRI and see where we are and if I’m getting it fixed, I already have a couple of tentative dates I would get it fixed."
Weis said the main problem lies in that a main recruiting push happens right at the end of the regular season, making surgery dates more difficult to select from.
