Vera Bradley's debut float in the Tournament of Roses Parade will feature breast cancer survivors and introduce its spring 2009 collection, Hope Garden.

The float was designed by Festival Artists Worldwide and will include Cynthia Nixon from "Sex and the City."

The two-time Emmy award winner, Tony Award winner and breast cancer survivor is one of four breast cancer survivors who will ride on the float, the company announced Thursday morning.

The spring collection will be rendered in flowers, showing three handbags and one travel bag from 3 to 5 feet tall.

Ten percent of net proceeds from Hope Garden sales benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer and other breast cancer projects and services.

The Hope Grows float is No. 17 in the lineup of 89 participants in the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1.

Vera Bradley is based in Fort Wayne.
