ND-Georgetown At The Half

Michael Rothstein
The Journal Gazette

Interesting first half here at the Joyce Center. Notre Dame leads 39-28, but this game has had the style of play reminiscent of the game played in Madison Square Garden two years ago.

Luke Harangody, unsurprisingly, has been dominant, going for 19 points and six rebounds in the first half.

Senior guard Kyle McAlarney also appears to have found his stroke a little bit, hitting three three-pointers for nine points.

The most glaring, considering how poorly the Irish rebounded on Saturday, Notre Dame is actually outrebounding the Hoyas 20-12 and have grabbed eight offensive rebounds.

The critical part of the first half for Notre Dame came on a 16-3 run capped by a Harangody jumper from the right baseline. He had the last 11 of the Irish's 16 points in the stretch.

He had the last 13 points of the half.

Don't think it'll stay this spread out as Georgetown will play smart enough to cut into the lead, but this is a good sign for an Irish team needing a win.
