Traffic stop nets drug charges

With help from a police dog, officers arrested a woman on drug charges Saturday in Kendallville, according to the Indiana State Police.

An Indiana state trooper stopped a 1997 Pontiac for a traffic violation about 1:45 a.m. The trooper sought the help of Kendallville police officers, and their dog detected drugs in the vehicle, state police said.

During a search of the Pontiac, officers discovered unidentified pills and an undisclosed amount of meth, state police said.

The Pontiac driver, Stephanie Gibson, 27, of Kendallville, was arrested and booked into the Noble County Jail on preliminary charges of methamphetamine possession, possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended. Her bail was set at $4,500.
