Science Central’s Sphere honored

Science Central’s newest permanent exhibit, Science on a Sphere, took home an award in the Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana 2014 Project Awards.

The exhibit was the winning entry in the Renovation Under $2 Million category at the event.

Science on a Sphere is an animated global-display system developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that uses computers and video projectors to show planetary data on a 6-foot-diameter sphere.

The exhibit, which features a sphere that appears to be floating and rotating in midair, opened to the public in October.
