ABC has booked a prime-time interview with pop star Janet Jackson, expected to be her first lengthy TV interview since her brother Michael’s death.

ABC’s Robin Roberts will interview Jackson at her Malibu, Calif., home for an hour-long special set to air Nov. 18.

Jackson is promoting a greatest hits album that is coming out for the holiday season.

ABC says it’s the first time Jackson has allowed TV cameras into her home.

Host backs U.S. team

Stephen Colbert announced on his show, “The Colbert Report,” that he’s the primary sponsor of the U.S. speedskating team. The team’s largest annual sponsor, DSB Bank NV, left the team in the lurch after it declared bankruptcy in October.

“Colbert Nation” – the catchall for fans of the satirical Comedy Central program – will be emblazoned on the team’s uniforms. “Be looking for that logo as it comes around the final turn. It will be easy to see because it will be in first place,” Colbert said.

Pageant host picked

TLC and the Miss America Organization said that “Extra” host Mario Lopez will serve as master of ceremonies for the Jan. 30 pageant in Las Vegas. Lopez also hosted the pageant in 2007 and 2009.

The pageant will feature 53 contestants, including Miss District of Columbia, Miss Virgin Islands and Miss Puerto Rico, who returns after a 50-year absence.

Katie Stam of Indiana is the current Miss America.
