Scouting report: Manchester can clinch second place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with a victory over the Grizzlies on Saturday. The Spartans can also nail down their second consecutive .500-or-better season. The last time the school accomplished that was in the 1992 and ’93 seasons when it had 5-5 records. Last year, Manchester was 5-5. Both teams are coming off losses. Franklin lost to Rose-Hulman 34-21, and Manchester lost to HCAC champion Mount St. Joseph 31-7. Franklin lost to Mount St. Joseph a week previous 26-16. Earlier in the season, Manchester defeated Rose-Hulman 20-17. The Spartans have 17 interceptions this season, five from Jeremiah Jones.
