The Week Ahead

Why stereotypes don’t work

Remember last week, when I wrote: “No sun. No warmth. November”? Um, never mind.

Not only have we seen a nice amount of sunshine this month, but temperatures have also been pleasant.

So what I’m about to write stings me a little, because I am a numbers guy. I love stats. I love to use numbers to evaluate what’s going on and compare the present to the past, but here goes: sometimes in weather, you’ve got to throw the numbers out.

The numbers tell us that November is a miserable monthlong descent into the depths of gray, cold days. This year, reality tells us something else. At least, so far.

Weather wise: So having said that, let’s look at the numbers. So far, we haven’t had one day this month with temperatures in the 20s, and we’ve received only a trace of rain.
