Hours after police say he robbed a Fort Wayne bank, a 33-year-old Fort Wayne man was arrested on a single federal charge of bank robbery.

Joseph F. Looper, of the 4900 block of Madeira Drive, was arrested Friday evening by federal and state law enforcement officers tracking the person believed to have robbed the Salin Bank at 6433 E. State Blvd.

Looper and another man paid a third man to go into the bank to learn about its layout. Then Looper went inside and robbed it, using a small black pistol, according to court documents.

At Looper’s home, police found a jacket that fit the description of the one worn by the robber, as well as a Salin Bank paper envelope in a trash can.

Court records do not indicate any additional arrests have been made in the case.

Defendant facing 20 years for kid porn

A 34-year-old Fort Wayne man arrested in a federal child pornography sting pleaded guilty Monday to sexual exploitation of children.

Christopher Ramirez, of the 400 block of Greenwood Avenue, admitted guilt to two counts of a multicount federal indictment issued by a U.S. District Court grand jury in Fort Wayne, admitting to producing and distributing child pornography.

Earlier this month, Ramirez picked up another bundle of charges, this time from state prosecutors.

Ramirez admitted to downloading and storing child pornography on his computer, and admitted to having sexual contact with a 10-year-old girl – performing sex acts on her and having sex with her, according to court documents in both the state and federal case.

He told police and federal agents he took sexually explicit pictures of the girl while she was wearing a dress, but deleted the photographs and did not distribute them, according to federal court documents.

As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Ramirez faces a prison sentence of 20 years and forfeits a number of pieces of computer equipment.

Ex-manager admits to $500,000 theft

A 37-year-old Fort Wayne woman pleaded guilty to theft Monday morning, admitting to stealing more than $500,000 from her employer.

Allison Poulson, of the 5300 block of Goshen Road, pleaded guilty in Allen Superior Court to a Class C felony count of theft and a Class D felony count of fraud.

In exchange for her guilty plea with prosecutors, two Class C felony charges of forgery will be dismissed when she is sentenced in December.

According to court documents, Poulson worked as property manager for Edgewood Estates, a local mobile home park. From January 2006 until the summer of 2008, Poulson wrote checks to herself from the business accounts, opened a credit card in her name off an unauthorized company account, took out cash advances on the card, and kept rent payments for herself. Some of her activity occurred after her boss lost his eyesight.

When interviewed by police, Poulson said she was stressed by a positive HIV diagnosis and said her boss harassed her. She said she wrote checks to herself in part to cover gambling expenses, according to court documents.

When she is sentenced, Poulson faces no more than two years in prison or on home detention or work release. She also faces four years on probation and $524,123 in restitution, according to court documents.
