WASHINGTON – Indiana and Ohio will share in a $4 million grant to help displaced auto workers get jobs in renewable-energy and other green industries.
The Labor Department said Indiana, Ohio and Michigan will work together under the direction of the state's Department of Workforce Development to develop programs for laid-off auto workers.
The money is part of nearly $55 million in green jobs grants announced Wednesday.
The three states will use the $4 million to collect information about unemployed auto workers, help them connect to job banks that advertise green jobs and help them get jobs after training programs.
