EVANSVILLE — Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Randall Shepard now has a high school academy named after him.

The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. and its foundation said the Randall Shepard Academy for Law and Social Justice is designed to develop critical analysis in juniors and seniors to prepare them for studies relating to law, social justice, American policy and social values.

They'll also earn college credit at the University of Southern Indiana.

The academy will enroll its first students next fall. It'll be housed at Shepard's alma mater, Evansville Harrison High School.

The school district said Shepard will have a hand in planning and implementing the academy.
