A Fort Wayne man accused of breaking into a womans home over the summer will have charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct and battery against him dropped as part of a plea agreement with Allen County prosecutors.
Chad A. Reuille, 31, was accused of threatening the woman with a knife July 21 before raping her in front of her 3-year-old child. Instead of rape, he admitted Thursday to one count each of residential entry and invasion of privacy.
If the plea agreement is accepted at his sentencing next month, Reuille will be sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation after he gets out, according to court documents.
The woman told police Reuille broke into her home and rubbed a knife against her. She said he told her what he was about to do was her fault and poked her with the knife, according to court documents. Reuille told her he had to get really, really drunk to do this and raped her despite her pleas to stop, she said in court documents.
He was arrested on charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct, burglary, battery, intimidation and invasion of privacy. The plea deal reduces the burglary charge to residential entry and calls for the other charges to be dropped.
