Two men robbed a south-side butcher shop at gunpoint Wednesday.

The men entered Albright’s Meats and Deli at 4924 S. Calhoun St. about 5:45 p.m. One pointed a black semiautomatic pistol at a cashier and told her to give him money in the cash register, Fort Wayne police said.

Witnesses told officers the man with the gun threatened to kill the people in the store if they moved.

As the clerks emptied their cash registers, one accidentally hit a button that beeped loudly.

The noise made the second robber, who was standing at the door, run out of the store.

The armed robber took the cash and followed after him, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the robbers.
