ROCKFIELD, Ind. – Authorities said a man was hospitalized after being shot while deer hunting over the weekend in northern Indiana.
Joe Irwin, 42, of Lafayette was shot in the abdomen Sunday evening while hunting with another man near Rockfield, about 25 miles northeast of Lafayette, the Carroll County Sheriff's Department said. He was taken by helicopter to a South Bend hospital in serious condition.
The shooting remained under investigation, the sheriff's department said.
