New Haven High School senior Levi Sherman tries his luck with a homemade boat he created for his physics class project on Tuesday. This was the 13th annual Anchors Away Cardboard Boat Competition in Mr. Matt Derby's class. Sherman said if he could improve this creation he would have the boat with a sharper front. The students had fun trying out their boats at Jury Pool, some made it and some sank right away.

The students in Mr. Matt Derby's Physics class experimented with creating their own boats, some were successful while others, like Myers, sank. The boat competition took place at Jury Pool in New Haven.
