If there's one thing I've learned in the past couple days, it's that Anoop Desai fans are a passionate bunch. But would they resort to cheating?
Check out this video from YouTube that claims to expose efforts to use international voting to inflate Desai's vote total.

If it is true, this is cheating. "American Idol" rules clearly state the following: "Anyone calling or any AT&T Mobility subscriber who has the ability to text message from within the Continental US, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands can cast their vote for the next American Idol."
With such a small margin -- 30,000 votes out of more than 34 million cast separated Desai from Scott MacIntyre, who was eliminated -- it is conceivable that if there was even a small percentage of tainted votes by "Desai'ples" and "Nooper Troopers," it changed this week's outcome.
Further, I've heard it said that the producers of "American Idol" are jerking around Desai and that they obviously don't want him to win. I've heard that Desai isn't given enough on-air time to connect with a wider audience.
Frankly, I would understand that argument made by an Allison Iraheta fan or a Matt Giraud fan. But the decision to make the Top 12 into the Top 13 was most beneficial to Desai. He was given a second chance after he failed to gain enough votes to make it into the initial Top 12.
So how does the argument that Desai is being sabotaged make any sense? If the allegations of voting fraud are true, how can this competition be deemed fair? Can someone please explain any of this to me?
