Adam is a talented singer. We all know that. I vote we let him go and see what happens to him. It will be good, whatever it is.

Love Adam Lambert? Then don't vote for him

Jennifer Hudson. Chris Daughtry. Kellie Pickler. Clay Aiken. Bucky Covington. Even William Hung.

None of these people won their season of American Idol. Hung didn't even get to Hollywood, but ended up making a name for himself. Jennifer Hudson has been on the big screen in "The Secret Life of Bees," "Dream Girls" and "Sex and the City." Fantasia has been in "The Color Purple" on Broadway and is apparently going to be on some new reality TV show. Big deal.

Chris Daughtry is probably the most successful non-winner to come out of the show. He has had hit after hit after hit. He even was invited to be the new lead singer of the band, Fuel. Pickler and Covington have also had Country hits post-Idol. What has Taylor Hicks done? Oh, he got dropped from the label.

Clay Aiken had his own Christmas special. Ruben sort of disappeared.

Based on this logic, maybe all you Glamberts shouldn't vote for Adam. He will be better off not winning the competition. Sitting under the microscope of the producers for a year will only hurt him and his creativity. He will go places after this. He will get signed to contract after contract whether it is with a Broadway production or a record company. Why not let someone with less experience and expertise get the guidance they need?

Sure, maybe it's a coincidence that some of these contestants have fared better than the winners of their respective seasons, but with the number of non-winners releasing singles and albums, maybe it's not. Even Josh Gracin from Ruben's season made it on the Country charts. Elliot Yamin has even done better than Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee. Even Ace Young has done something with his life. He now hosts American Idol Rewind.

So, if you just love Adam Lambert with all of your heart, head, mind, body and soul, don't dial his digits this week. Let the man go. He will succeed; there's no doubt about it.

Let's give Kris Allen a chance. Or why not Anoop Desai or Matt Giraud? These are the contestants who are good, but could use the guidance to be great.
