Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis attempts to launch a new era in sideline demeanor.

The chair recognizes ...

... Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis, who, still recuperating from knee surgery, decided to be somewhat more, um, laid back than normal on the occasion of the spring game.

Personally, I think Charlie was just trying to out-scheme Joe Paterno, who pioneered the coaching-from-the-press-box thing at Penn State last fall. Now comes Charlie and his easy chair.
