Byers The Offensive Player of the Week

Notre Dame senior attack Jillian Byers was named the Big East's women's lacrosse offensive player of the week this week. The Irish's all-time leading scorer and point getter notched a Notre Dame single-game record 12 points in a 20-5 win over Connecticut. Against the Huskies, she scored seven goals and had five assists.

Byers had 16 points in the week, with a total of 11 goals and five assists in wins over UConn and Vanderbilt. Notre Dame, ranked No. 9 in the country, open post-season play with a semifinal game in the Big East tournament against No. 8 Syracuse on Friday in Washington, D.C. In the tournament, the Irish are the No. 3 seed and the Orange are the No. 2 seed.
