Christina Applegate graces the cover of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful” issue. The actress, who recently battled breast cancer, has much to celebrate: She says she’s finally found her “perfect type” in her beau, Dutch musician Martyn Lenoble.

Applegate, 37, had a double mastectomy in July and reconstructive surgery. The star of ABC’s “Samantha Who?” calls Lenoble an “angel” who loves her “from head to toe.”

The annual “Most Beautiful” issue features 100 famous faces, including Michelle Obama, Zac Efron and Cindy Crawford. It hits newsstands Friday.

Usher, 7, turns heads

Grammy-winning R&B singer Usher unveiled a childhood photo on billboards as part of a national campaign for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The organization’s campaign, “Be Great,” shows people how beneficial the club is for youngsters. The singer’s picture as a 7-year-old will adorn billboards nationwide at airports and in public service announcements.

Usher, 30, joins others with childhood photo billboards for the club: Denzel Washington, Shaquille O’Neal, Martin Sheen, Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Gen. Wesley Clark.

TV star out of prison

Lane Garrison, who was serving a sentence of three years and four months for a drunken-driving crash, has been released from prison.

The former “Prison Break” actor was paroled and picked up Wednesday from the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, Lt. Jon Bartelmie said.

Garrison was charged after a December 2006 crash in which he rammed his SUV into a tree, killing Vahagn Setian, 17, and injuring two teen girls.

Beau in crash on mend

Casey Aldridge, the father of Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie, was released from intensive care and is walking around for the first time since suffering a head injury Sunday.

Aldridge, who turned 20 on Wednesday, was hospitalized after flipping his truck on a road in Louisiana about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He and three of the five occupants were ejected.

Penns on way to divorce

Sean Penn, 48, has filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, Robin Wright Penn, court papers filed last week in Marin County, Calif., show.

The actor is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their children, daughter Dylan, 18, and son Hopper, 15. He is also requesting that the court not award spousal support to Wright Penn, 43. The papers show the couple separated April 23.

The couple had begun divorce proceedings in December 2007 but reconciled.
