Brey Has Hoops Advice For President Obama

Notre Dame men's basketball coach Mike Brey won't be on campus this weekend, instead meandering his way down to Florida for the Big East meetings, but as he left the Midwest for golf country, he offered a piece of advice and an offer to President Obama, who will be on the South Bend campus this weekend to deliver a commencement address. Use your right hand more. And to help, Brey extended an invitation to his basketball camp this summer to help out.

"My only comment is I would love to get him in the gym a little bit and work on his right hand," Brey said. "From watching his game on tape, he just doesn't go right. I'd offer him a camp scholarship this June, if he wants to come back, I could get him working on that right hand where he can go right and be a threat both ways." President Obama is an avid basketball player and played a game of pick-up with the North Carolina basketball team during his campaign in 2008. Upon hearing about his decision to speak at Notre Dame commencement, the Notre Dame senior basketball players also joked about trying to get him to play pickup with them before graduation.
