Michael Moore’s documentary about the economic crisis reaches theaters Oct. 2, said Overture Films and Paramount Vantage.

The Oscar-winning Moore had planned to make it more broadly about America as an empire. Instead, the documentary explores the global economic meltdown, which he calls “the biggest swindle in American history.”

Sarah Palin is writing a memoir and has picked a collaborator.

Child stars boosted

The search for new homes for two child stars from “Slumdog Millionaire” has intensified as one child fell sick after Mumbai, India, authorities demolished the shanty where she lived. (Co-star Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail’s home was destroyed last week.)

Rubina Ali, 9, had a fever Friday and spent hours in a hospital, family said. “I’m fine now, but I feel tired,” Rubina said.

Rubina’s block was razed to make way for a pedestrian overpass at a train station. “Slumdog” filmmakers will spend $50,000 on new apartments for the stars’ families.

Art imitates life?

A couple sued a writer of CBS’ “CSI,” claiming shady characters were named after them for revenge. Real estate agents Melinda and Scott Tamkin sued writer-producer Sarah Goldfinger for defamation and invasion of privacy; they seek $6 million.

The Tamkins represented the owners of a home Goldfinger wanted to buy in 2005, according to the lawsuit. Goldfinger pulled out when the sale was in escrow.

The “CSI” show featured a Realtor named Melinda and her husband, Scott, a broker who watches porn, drinks and is suspected of killing his wife.
