INDIANAPOLIS – Loren Robertson, a former Allen County health official, has been named Indianas next deputy state health commissioner.
Loren has a wealth of public health expertise and a proven track record of success in public health leadership, state health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe said. He will serve the agency well as we continue to tackle public health challenges.
Robertson currently is assistant commissioner of the Public Health and Preparedness Commission at the Indiana State Department of Health. His new position is effective June 8.
I am wholeheartedly looking forward to taking on the challenges of this new role and continuing to work with Dr. Monroe to make a positive difference in the health of Hoosiers, Robertson said.
Before joining the State Department of Health in May 2005, Robertson was associated with the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health for more than 30 years.
During his time with the local health department, he worked in environmental health/inspections, vector control, health education and food protection.
From 1995 until 1998, Robertson was legislative liaison to the General Assembly for the Allen County commissioners. In 1998, he returned to the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department as department administrator, a position he held until joining the State Department of Health.
