Kristine Foate on Friday morning resigned her position as president and CEO of the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, an official announced Friday afternoon.

Ben Eisbart, executive committee member of the Chamber's board of directors, issued a written statement that announced Mike Landram's appointment as the organization's interim president and CEO.

Landram, who was vice president of workforce development, has worked at the Chamber for five years. He is expected to be considered for the presidency on a permanent basis after a hiring committee is formed.

Foate, a former radio executive, led the non-profit organization for slightly more than a year. She stepped into the executive position in mid-May 2008, replacing Phil Laux, who retired at the end of 2007.

The Chamber includes almost 1,800 members and operates with a $2.2 million annual budget.
