Shutout eliminates Hoosiers

– Vanderbilt pitcher Sonny Gray gave up seven hits and struck out 10 as the Commodores beat Indiana 10-0 in an elimination game of the NCAA tournament on Saturday.

Steven Liddle had three hits and three RBI, and Riley Reynolds also had three hits and scored two runs for third-seeded Vanderbilt (35-26).

Freshman Aaron Westlake, who led the SEC in hitting, added a pair of RBI and Brian Harris had a solo homer.

Indiana starter Matt Bashore (7-5) gave up eight hits and seven earned runs. The left-hander lasted only 4 1/3 innings.

Kipp Schutz went 3 for 3 for the fourth-seeded Hoosiers, who were making their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1996.
