Tate A First Team All-American By Phil Steele

In at least one publication, Notre Dame junior wide receiver Golden Tate is an All-American. A first-team All-American.

So says Phil Steele, whose college football preview hits stores next week. Tate had 58 catches for 1,080 yards and 10 touchdowns last year.

He's not the only Notre Dame All-American, either. Offensive tackle Sam Young was picked as a second-team All-American by Steele. Young will be in his fourth year as a starter for the Irish in the fall. Notre Dame also has an inordinate amount of players on Steele's All-Independents team, but considering the Independent schools are few and military academy between, it's not really a fair gauge.
