Drug sweep nets 17

Two meth labs and items used to make the illegal drug were seized Tuesday in a LaGrange County drug warrant sweep in which 17 people were arrested.

State and local police converged in the county to wrap up a yearlong investigation by the IMAGE Drug Task Force, the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday.

Those arrested on felony charges include:

Scott N. Pearson, 37, of LaGrange.

Larry L. Burlew Jr., 37, of LaGrange.

Brandi N. Lewis, 25, of LaGrange.

Danielle Hedges, 31, of LaGrange.

Roy E. Lewis, 46, of LaGrange.

Michael J. Sisson, 29, of LaGrange.

Ernestine Ellis, 48, of LaGrange.

Misty-Leigh Ellis, 18, of LaGrange.

Michael L. Sawyer, 20, of LaGrange.

Cody S. Ritchie, 21, of LaGrange (warrant).

Robert Ellis, 29, of Wolcottville.

Holly M. Lucas, 23, of Wolcottville.

The Journal Gazette commonly does not name those charged only with misdemeanors.

Most of the arrests were the result of residents’ complaints, Sheriff Terry Martin said in a written statement, encouraging them to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
