3 Indiana residents face drug charges in Ohio

The Bryan, Ohio, Police Department arrested three northeast Indiana residents Wednesday about 6:05 p.m. and charged them with illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

Police were called on a complaint that several people were attempting to buy pseudoephedrine, the major ingredient in producing methamphetamine, at several businesses in Bryan.

Arrested were Brenda K. Vanhalst, 49, of the 11000 block of E County Road 750 S, Wolcottville; Nicholas Vanhalst, 31, of the 1700 block of Roys Avenue, Elkhart; and Michael E. Vanhalst, 24, of the 600 block of Berry Lane, Kendallville.

All three were taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. Other drug charges are pending.

The Bryan Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Williams County Sheriff's Department, Defiance County Sheriff's Department, Defiance City Police Department and the Multi-area Narcotics Task Force.
