A 17-year-old girl and a 5-month-old baby she is accused of abducting in southwest Illinois were found Tuesday in Fort Wayne, according to published reports.

Pam Mozdierz, spokeswoman for the U.S. Marshals Service, confirmed that an out-of-state kidnapping suspect had been arrested in Fort Wayne but could not provide details Tuesday night.

The Belleville (Ill.) News-Democrat reported that the infant boy, Cortez L. Rose, was abducted Saturday afternoon by a baby sitter in Madison, Ill., and found unharmed Tuesday in Fort Wayne.

Allen County Lockup records show Danielle Medina, 17, of New York City, was booked about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on warrants out of Madison, Ill., and New York.

Medina was being held without bail.

Madison police said Medina abducted the infant while shopping for baby clothes, the News-Democrat reported.

The New York police warrant is for charges of felony robbery and grand larceny where Medina was previously convicted of child endangerment, Madison police told the News-Democrat.
