NAL Worldwide to cut 70 jobs in city

About 70 workers will lose their jobs when NAL Worldwide LLC shuts down some of its Fort Wayne operations, the company said.

The supply chain company plans to consolidate work at its headquarters in Addison, Ill., NAL Worldwide said in a letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

NAL Worldwide said the jobs would be eliminated by Dec. 1. Some of the 70 affected workers might be able to transfer to another NAL Worldwide location, but the company said it was not sure how many.

NAL Worldwide bought the business, which was previously called Sirva Logistics, from North American Van Lines in 2005 for $20 million. The U.S. 30 business had 260 workers at the time, and NAL Worldwide had planned to increase that number to 500 by this year.
